DSE901 Mini Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit Tutorial Video

I'm going to cover all the basics to help you get started with your Mini Electronic Cigarette. In the future, Totally Wicked will change its name to ENI. ENI stands for Electronic Nicotine Inhalator. Let me quickly demonstrate what it actually does. [pause] Now at first glance it may well appear that I'm smoking, but in fact I'm actually exhaling a vapor. It's for this reason why the guys at Totally Wicked want to move away from the term electronic cigarette, and replace it with ENI. The only similarity between this and a real cigarette is the fact that they both contain nicotine.

During this video, I'll refer to liquid nicotine. I must point out that nicotine in its full form is classed as a poison. Now I know that all sounds very scary, but as long as you use it in a safe and responsible manner, you have nothing to worry about. Always keep it out of the reach of young children. If at any stage you get it onto your hands, your skin in general, or in your mouth, don't panic. Just simply rinse it off.

Now let's get started by showing you exactly what comes in a Mini Electronic Cigarette starter kit. When you receive your mini, it's going to come in a presentation box like this, and depending on what color you chose, whether it's the platinum or the black as shown here, the box and its contents will be color-coded to match. While lifting up the lid, you will find the user manual. I strongly advise you read this before use.

You get two automatic batteries, one atomizer, one childproof container with five tobacco-flavored nicotine cartridges of various strengths, one box which contains your power cable, and by lifting out this section, you'll find another box which contains your charger.

Before we start to use the mini, it's very important that we fully charge the battery. I'm now going to show you how to charge the battery using the main charger supplied. To charge the battery you'll need the power cable, the charger, and, of course, the battery. The charger on one end has a connection for the power cable, and on the other end it has a connection for the battery. On the front is a charging status light. A red light indicates that the battery is charging, and a solid green light indicates that the battery is now fully charged.

Insert the power cable, remove the battery, and gently screw it into place. You don't need to go too tight. The charging status light will now turn red, and once it goes to a solid green color, it will indicate that the battery is now fully charged. It will take around two hours to fully charge the battery, and a fully charged battery should give you around three hours use. You can tell when the battery needs to be charged as the light on the end will start to flash consistently for around 10 seconds. Now that the battery is fully charged, we can begin to assemble the mini.

The mini is made up of three parts; the automatic battery, the atomizer, and the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece  contains a cartridge which is filled with polyester wool that has been soaked in liquid nicotine.

The battery on one end has a male connection, and on the other end it has a LED which will light up every time you activate it. To activate you simply inhale.

The atomizer on one end has a female connection, and just above it you can see a small hole. This is for airflow. On the other end, if you look carefully, you can see a steel wick. Underneath that steel wick is a heating coil. The steel wick soaks up the liquid nicotine from the cartridge and feeds it to the heating coil. Once it reaches the heating coil, it then becomes vaporized. The battery and atomizer screw together, and the mouthpiece simply slots in place. And there you have your complete mini, and it is now ready for use.

Included in your mini starter kit are five tobacco flavored nicotine cartridges. Each cartridge is roughly the equivalent of 50 good inhalations. Eventually the cartridge will run dry and look like this. Now compare that to a fresh cartridge, which is still nice and moist. When your cartridge runs dry, you then have the option of either replacing it with a fresh cartridge, or refilling it with liquid nicotine. Liquid nicotine is also known as E-Liquid. E-Liquid is available separately on the Totally Wicked website in a number of different flavors. I'm now going to demonstrate how to refill a cartridge using the E-Liquid. [pause]

In order to refill a dry cartridge, you'll need the following items; a bottle of E-Liquid available separately on the Totally Wicked website, a pair of tweezers or something similar, your dry cartridge, and some paper towel.

Using the tweezers, carefully remove the wool from the cartridge. Now firmly rinse the wool under a cold tap until eventually it goes completely white. Once it's gone completely white, place it onto the paper towel, fold over, and pat it dry. Keep repeating this process until eventually no more water can be seen on the paper towel.

Using your bottle of E-Liquid, remove the top, give it a gentle squeeze, and shake off any excess liquid. Now very carefully add eight drops [pause] and then reinsert the wool. Use your tweezers to push it down further until eventually it goes level with the top.

Using the E-Liquid now add one drop at a time, allowing it to soak in. Keep repeating this process until eventually it will no longer soak into the polyester wool.  You now have one fully refilled cartridge.

So, by now you should have a fully assembled mini with a fresh cartridge and a fully charged battery. The key to getting good vapor is to try to take long, controlled inhales. The longer you inhale for, the more vapor you'll produce. Let me demonstrate. [pause]  Also try not to keep the vapor held inside your lungs for too long. The longer you hold it in for, the less vapor you'll get on the exhale. Nicotine gets absorbed into the body almost immediately. You therefore gain no advantage by holding it inside your lungs for more than a one or two seconds.
